The Staff Committee wishes to inform the staff of the General Secretariat that on Tuesday, January 24 the progress report of the Comprehensive Human Resource Management Strategy - Phase One prepared by the Secretariat for Administration and Finance will be presented to the Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Affairs of the Permanent Council (CAAP).
The report proposes, among other topics:
a) Conversion of some positions of trust to fixed term contracts (short term);
b) Conversion of all director posts to P-5s;
c) Adjustments in the policies of the General Secretariat on the requirements for long-term contracts through competition, and
d) Review the current structure of incentives, retention and career development, with step increases every year or two years.
The Staff Committee invites concerned staff to submit comments to the Staff Association on the report of the Secretariat for Administration and Finance so that these can be considered in the document which the Staff Committee is developing.

El Comité del Personal informa a los funcionarios de la Secretaría General que el día martes 24 de enero se presentará ante la Comisión de Asuntos Administrativos y Presupuestarios del Consejo Permanente (CAAP) el informe de avance del Plan integral de gestión de recursos humanos - Fase uno elaborado por la Secretaría de Administración y Finanzas.
En dicho informe se propone entre otros temas:
a) Conversión de algunos puestos de confianza en contratos de termino fijo (corto plazo);
b) Conversión de todos los puestos de director al nivel P-5;
c) Ajustes en las políticas de la Secretaría General sobre los requisitos para contratos de largo plazo mediante concurso; y
d) Revisión de la estructura vigente de incentivos, retención y desarrollo de las perspectivas de carrera, con aumentos de paso cada uno o dos años.
El Comité del Personal invita a los funcionarios interesados a enviar a la Asociación del Personal sus comentarios sobre el informe de la Secretaría de Administración y Finanzas a fin de que sean considerados en el documento que el Comité del Personal está elaborando.
