GALA presents Five Hours with Mario/Cinco horas con Mario, a hilarious monologue based on the novel by renowned Spanish writer Miguel Delibes and featuring Spanish actress María Victoria Peña. Performed in Spanish with English subtitles, the DC staging is part of an international tour.
When Mario dies suddenly, his widow Carmen engages in a candid and biting conversation over his coffin. In this witty satire, her reflections shed humorous light on their marriage and its conflicts, and poke fun at the narrow-minded petty bourgeoisie of the 1960s in Spain.
Cinco horas con Mario will be presented Friday, March 30 at 8 pm and Saturday, March 31 at 8 pm at the GALA Theatre, 3333 14th Street, NW.
Tickets are $25 regular, and $20 student and senior (65+). OAS employees
receive $5 discount of the regular priced tickets

GALA presenta Cinco horas con Mario, un divertido monólogo basado en la novela del reconocido escritor español Miguel Delibes e interpretado por la actriz española María Victoria Peña. Presentado en español con supertítulos en inglés, este espectáculo forma parte de una gira internacional.
Tras la repentina muerte de Mario, encontramos a su viuda teniendo una
franca y cómica conversación frente a su ataúd. Recordando la vida pasada
junto a él, afloran sus preocupaciones religiosas, sexuales y morales en
la sociedad española de los años sesenta.
Las funciones de Cinco horas con Mario se realizarán el
viernes 30 de marzo a las 8 p.m. y el sábado 31 de marzo a las 8
p.m.
en el Teatro GALA, ubicado en 3333 14th Street, NW
Washington, DC.
El precio regular de los boletos es $25 y $20 para estudiantes y personas
de la tercera edad (65+). Los empleados de la OEA reciben $5 de
descuento en los boletos a precio regular (Es necesario presentar
