Information on Continuing Contracts II On December 6, 2013 the Staff Association
sent a letter to then Secretary for Administration and Finance, Mr. Gerald
Anderson requesting that the Continuing Contract process be initiated.
Mr. Anderson did not respond. On January 28, 2014, the Staff
Association sent a formal letter to the Acting Director of Human Resources
making the same request. No official response has been received to
date. The General Standards to Govern the
Operations of the General Secretariat establishes a minimum target range of
between 40% and 50% for Continuing Contracts. According to available
estimates, we are considerably under that target percentage, and accordingly,
the General Standards require GS/OAS to open the corresponding competitive
process. The Staff Association would like to
reiterate our previous requests and once again call upon the Administration
to open the continuing contract process forthwith, pursuant to the
established provisions. Información sobre Contratos Continuos II El 6 de
diciembre de 2013, la Asociación del Personal envió una carta al Señor Gerald
Anderson, anterior Secretario de Administración y Finanzas de la OEA, para
solicitarle que se inicie el proceso de los contratos continuos para el
personal. El Sr. Anderson no respondió a esta solicitud. Nuevamente, el día
28 de enero de 2014, se envió otra carta formal al director de Recursos
Humanos interino con la misma solicitud. A la fecha no hemos recibido
respuesta oficial. El
Reglamento del Personal de la Secretaría General establece como objetivo, un
mínimo de entre cuarenta y cincuenta por ciento de contratos continuos en el
personal de la Organización. Según las estimaciones disponibles,
estamos por debajo de la meta objetivo, por lo cual, el Reglamento requiere
que SG/OEA abra el proceso competitivo correspondiente. La
Asociación del Personal quisiera reiterar sus solicitudes anteriores y
nuevamente instar a la Administración a que abra el proceso de contratos
continuos de acuerdo con las reglas establecidas. |
