Dear All,
I have been part of the Komen Global Race for the Cure
since its first edition in 2009. Last year, I had the
fortune to share it with my
children.
I race for my daughters, mother and sister, nieces and
sisters in-law, my female colleagues and friends, and
for all women who have made an impact in my life and
who are part of my friends' and family members' lives.
I particularly race for all women in the Americas,
from Canada and the US to Chile and Argentina. I race
for those women in the Americas who have made a
difference, but mostly for those most vulnerable and
those who serve our communities anonymously, caring
for our elders and children, organizing our most
vulnerable communities, making crucial decisions that
save lives every time a disaster or an emergency of
any kind strikes.
Join me then in the global movement to end breast
cancer forever! When you support me with a donation to
the Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure®, you will
have a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of
women everywhere.
Or just
join me at the race!
Up to 75 percent of the Komen Global Race's net income
stays in the Washington, D.C. area to fund breast
cancer screening, treatment and education programs
through the National Capital Area Grant Program. The
remaining 25 percent supports the Susan G. Komen for
the Cure Global Promise Fund, a program dedicated to
sharing knowledge and experience, and to funding
education and breast health services in regions where
few exist.
Every dollar makes an impact. Here's how:
--$100 could be used to provide one mammogram
--$250 could be used to cover five clinical breast
exams
--$500 could be used to provide five diagnostic
ultrasounds
--$1000 could be used to provide 10 mammograms
You can make an impact. You can make a difference.
