Update on the Administrative Tribunal The Staff Committee met on Tuesday, October 10 with Judges
Michel Bastarache (Vice President) and Michael T. Peay of the Administrative
Tribunal to discuss the importance of having a fully operational
Administrative Tribunal for all OAS Staff as a final guarantor of dispute
resolution. In this regard, the Staff Committee wishes to provide you
with the communications between the Administrative Tribunal and the Office of
the Secretary General as well as the presentation distributed by Judges
Bastarache and Peay at the Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Affairs
(CAAP) meeting held on Tuesday, October 10. 1.

of the Secretary General to the President of the Administrative Tribunal of
the OAS - Link We hope that the judges and the Administration will be able
to meet with OAS Staff to review the important role that the Administrative
Tribunal in access to justice, as well as to inform about the process by
which individuals should follow to take advantage of this important resource.
We will inform Staff as soon as the date of the meeting is
confirmed. In the meantime, this Committee continues to follow this issue
closely and hopes that the situation can be resolved at the earliest possible
time. |
