Exhibition
of sculptures by Uruguayan artist Cecilia Miguez at the
Embassy of Uruguay
The Embassy of Uruguay and the Uruguay
Cultural Foundation for the Arts are pleased to announce
the opening of "Transmigrations" an exhibition
of sculptures by Uruguayan artist Cecilia Miguez.
Opening on Tuesday, October 8 at 6:30
p.m., this comprehensive body of work will be shown at the
Salón de las Artes, located on the 2nd Floor of the
Embassy of Uruguay (1913 "I" Street, NW).
Ms. Miguez studied painting and
sculpting techniques both in Uruguay and the United
States. Though born in Montevideo, she now lives and works
in California.
She has exhibited widely both in Latin
America and in the United States.
She is considered one of Uruguay's
rising talents.
Organized by the Uruguay Cultural
Foundation for the Arts, this exhibition is part of a
continuing series of shows that feature Uruguayan
contemporary artists. The Foundation was established in
2000 with two major purposes: to disseminate the richness
of Uruguayan Culture in all its manifestations and to
foster the participation of our artists in various U.S.
cultural circuits.
The exhibition
"Transmigrations" is open from October 8 to
November 5.
Gallery hours are Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
