DONATIONS FOR THE FAMILY OF KEDY HERBIVEAU
The Secretary
General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel
Insulza, has strongly condemned the murder of Kedy Herbiveau, a Haitian
security guard who worked for almost 18 months with the OAS Electoral
Technical Assistance Program in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The Program
supported the registration of more than 3.5 million Haitians in the
months leading up to last February’s elections.
It was with deep regret that Secretary General Insulza, who has
expressed condolences to the Herbiveau family, learned the news of the
crime, which took place on Saturday, August 5, near the OAS base in
Port-au-Prince. Herbiveau, 47, is survived by his wife and a daughter.
In an effort to help
with the economic challenges that Mrs. Herbiveau and her daughter are
facing, the Staff Association has opened account #200663 at the OAS
Federal Credit Union and solicits your contributions.
Donations will be
accepted through August 31, 2006.
